Christmas in Leake County

Christmas Open House is the annual shop local event hosted by the MSCLC! Every year on one Sunday afternoon during the month of November, local business owners open their doors after hours for this special Christmas Shopping Event. Often the best holiday deals in town can be found during this event! It is always important to support local businesses, but the Christmas Open House makes for an extra special time and place to show support during the holidays!

All MSCLC Business Members who participate receive free advertisements for this event and can participate in the fun giveaways or prizes sponsored by our organization.

The Christmas Parade is a well-known and loved tradition in Leake County. Held annually on the first Thursday of December, community members decorate their best floats and don their best holiday attire to enter the Christmas Parade. This event is free to the public and held as a celebration for the Christmas Holiday here in Leake County! Marching bands, antique cars, horseback riders, floats, and a visit from Santa are just a few of the things that make this such a fun parade to attend.

The MSCLC will give awards to participants based on categories that are judged on the night of the parade.

This year our organization will partner with the Town of Walnut Grove to host a second Christmas Parade for our beloved community “South of the River.” Follow our social media channels for more information about these events!
